As the song says, God gave rock & roll to you. And God's intermediary was KISS, a bubblegum metal band who enjoyed immense commercial success in their original run in the 1970s, and then, to a lesser degree, in their more serious second incarnation in the '90s. The tracks on this third volume of the Millennium Collection series focus solely on that later period, when they traded their patented cartoon look and antics for a tougher, bigger sound. In doing so, they captured the last glowing embers of hair metal as it faded into the grunge era. Highlights here include a killer live version of 1992's "Domino," and the rock anthem to end all anthems, "I Pledge Allegiance to the State of Rock and Roll."
